In late July we discovered a Mother pigeon had chosen to nest in one corner of our barn! We often see about 4-6 different pigeons in the barn. The mother pigeon laid two pale white eggs. We watched the eggs for about 15-20 days. The mother would stay on her nest most of the time, but occasionally she would leave and we could see her 2 eggs.
We carefully watched and on August 15th we noticed that 2 baby pigeons had hatched. They were pretty yellow chicks!
It’s now 2 weeks since their birth, and the baby pigeons are mostly gray and 3-4 times their birth size. We understand they will start to fly in about 3 more weeks and by the mid to end of September they will fly just like an adult pigeon!
