Baby Pigeons

IMG_0470

In late July we discovered a Mother pigeon had chosen to nest in one corner of our barn! We often see about 4-6 different pigeons in the barn. The mother pigeon laid two pale white eggs.  We watched the eggs for about 15-20 days.  The mother would stay on her nest most of the time, but occasionally she would leave and we could see her 2 eggs.

We carefully watched and on August 15th we noticed that 2 baby pigeons had hatched.  They were pretty yellow chicks!

It’s now 2 weeks since their birth, and the baby pigeons are mostly gray and 3-4 times their birth size.  We understand they will start to fly in about 3 more weeks and by the mid to end of September they will fly just like an adult pigeon!

Kaysville vs West Haven – THE State Champs 4 years in a row!

On Saturday August 28th, Taylor’s football team faced off with the #1 team in the State.  West Haven has been undefeated in the past 4 years and has won the post season bowl championship all 4 years.

Here’s the starting line up, with Tay at defensive end.  Noticing him trying to shake off the pre-game jitters!

Nearing the end of the 1st half, Kaysville has driven well, but never scored.  West haven has scored 2 TDs but failed in the PAT.  0-12 in favor of West Haven.  With just a minute left, Kaysville marches successfully to the 3 yard line, where they pass for a TD and then make the PAT.  Halftime is 7-12.

Here Tay breaks through the line and rushes the QB for a hurry that resulted in an interception and score by Kaysville.  In the 2nd half, Kaysville scores 3 unanswered TDs, and misses only one PAT to bring the score to 27-12.

Following his QB “hurry” and near sack, Tay gets a big CONGRATS by the coaches!

Dad’s Birthday

Another year and another birthday!  We celebrated by taking the grandkids.  We did some yard things and then went to the zoo and then to the Chucky Cheese restaurant.  It was a great day with the Grandkids, Taylor, Britt, Jonny, Jess and Brandon!
